Surgical Education
Pre-Operative Education
-
Prior to your surgery, our surgeons and staff will review the procedure with you so that you have a good understanding of what to expect. You will receive instructions on what you need to do in the days and hours leading up to your surgery. These instructions will vary depending on your individual needs and the type of surgery you are having.
-
Our staff will let you know when to arrive at the hospital for your procedure. Wear comfortable clothes and bring a trusted friend or family member with you who can stay throughout the duration of the surgery. Depending on the complexity of the procedure, you may have to be admitted to the hospital for recovery following surgery.
Post-operative Instructions
-
Following surgery, you will receive instructions about your care. Instructions will vary depending on your particular situation. You will also be scheduled for a follow-up office visit in the weeks following your procedure.
-
If you experience any problems after surgery, please call our office at (717) 231-8555 or 1-800-872-6000. If it is after hours, our answering service will connect you with the surgeon on call, who is available 24-hours a day, seven days a week.
